I could go further. If you really believe in TEOTWAWKI the only things that can save you are a stockpile of food and water (not to mention toilet paper, and such things as tampons and pet food and pharmaceuticals if applicable), and a stockpile of guns and ammunition. Maybe body armor. A vehicle that runs on vegetable oil isn't a bad idea, either. And a solar powered radio, and a flashlight that can be run via mechanical means. If your only response to a fear of TEOTWAWKI is to hoard gold, then you know nothing of TEOTWAWKI.
