It's very possible pani could fail but you're reaching if you think the company is lobbing obvious hints with the cautionary "data supporting" proviso. What else would you expect with a marginally effective therapy?

They never attached the data dependent qualifier to their discussions until today. (I’ve listened to every ABGX CC for the past few years.)

Moreover, AMGN head of R&D, Roger Perlmutter, made some curious remarks on AMGN’s CC last week that also suggested the data are less than stellar.

All this might mean nothing, of course, but as an investor you have play the odds. I do think these nuances imply that the odds of failure have increased to some degree.
