Sandy Berger, national security adviser to President Clinton and advisor to John Kerry, plead guilty to taking and destroying federal property. Berger intentionally took copies of classified documents, with hand written notes on them, from the National Archives and cut them up and then lied about it. Berger and his lawyer said he knowingly removed the handwritten notes by placing them in his jacket, pants and socks, and also inadvertently took copies of actual classified documents.

These documents were from the all-mighty and always correct Richard Clarke and discussed stopping terrorism over the millennium. This all came about directly before the documents were to come before the September 11th commission.
