re: Indeed, us "America haters" were against the war, before the war...when being against the war meant being a "traitor" in the eye of a nation slow to catch on.

I knew we would eventually be in the majority. One day even the most ardent hawks on this thread will admit it was one of the biggest mistakes this country has ever made.

Now the House and Senate are debating bills to cut social programs; food stamps and medicaid and the like. The wealthy haven't sacrificed for this idiotic war, they got their tax cuts... but we're going to try to continue to pay for the war on the backs of people that can't make ends meet right now. The least among us.

My country is sick.

John

Count me in pal, as documented right here on SI, I've been against the war since the chimp first started sabre-rattling twoard Iraq AFTER 9/11, causing me to do a double-take and throw in a "Huh? Where the hell did THAT come from?"

Hey man, you are the one that disses the "public school" masses. I'm the guy that was against the war before the war.

Indeed, us "America haters" were against the war, before the war...when being against the war meant being a "traitor" in the eye of a nation slow to catch on.

Yes, but you understand that Saddam was getting ready to fire nukes at us, and then with al Qaida, take over the gov't. Those were dangerous times.....houses with their own personal missile were selling really well. We are so lucky that Bush toppled Saddam.
