did you find any explanation for my question about why the character would call herself Pinky, presumably a dead giveaway of her secret? Nope. And I never watched the movie, so I was not sure that she did. If the character did, I guess the studio was afraid their audience wouldn't "get it" if they didn't lay it out for them. Remember, this was a "black" term. We have to remember that the movie was made in 1949, for an all-white audience.
