Not sure it is off topic and my first thought was "oh shit".

As a leading member of OPEC, control of the northern straits of Hermoz, building a nuclear program, and the Iranian leader calls for complete distruction of another country, what do you think will happen to oil prices?

Haven't heard or read anything about it in the US press. Why so quiet? Not a peep from the futures pits.

This guy sounds crazier than Chavez so perhaps it's being discounted as over the top political blander.

Most of Iran's oil exports are shipped through the Straits of Hormuz, which can be blockaded with just a small percentage of America's naval force.

But "...Iran has also purchased and built large coastal forces equipped with high-speed, China-made, anti-ship cruise missiles as well as patrol boats, semisubmersibles and three Russian Kilo-class submarines. All are intended to close the Strait of Hormuz, through which most Gulf oil passes, in any confrontation with the West."
