Short term that could have been 100% correct.

As far as oil and semi's go I have observed an inverse relationship many times during the last year:

But there is no reason why oil prices can't rise within reason while the SOX rises too or unfortunately the reverse can happen as well. Especially if we get an economic recession.

The inverse relationship between gold and the dollar is not always apparent:

Neither is the one between oil and semiconductors. These things can both track together, inversely or have no relationship at all at least for short periods of time.
