If you read the article, you'd know that it was the same general that said they had 3 in June that said they only have 1 ready now. Go back and read the story.

The reason is that the two fell out of readiness...simple as that.

So after two and a half years there are only 300 combat ready Iraqi men that can operate independent of the US forces.

Further, the other story which expanded on that topic said it will likely be well after 2008 when things in Iraq are under control. By then there will be likely 4,000 dead and 20,000 wounded Americans. Seems there is a problem training and equipping the men. Sounds like another job for Halliburton!
