In fact, most Americans did not want to invade Iraq until Bush et al scared them/twisted their arm into it. But President G.W. Bush was himself coerced into invading both Afghanistan and Iraq --that's what 9/11 was all about. So, I think Bacevich's point is that, if Clinton had been hit with a 9/11 eight months after his inauguration, he TOO would have invaded Afghanistan and Iraq.... (Actually, the same Judeofascist cabal that pulled off 9/11 did attempt to force Clinton to invade Afghanistan --remember the bombing of two US embassies in Africa on Aug 7th 1998) Coerced? Are you rewriting history? You sound like Karl Rove. I don't remember anyone having to persuade Bush to invade Afghanistan. As for Iraq, it was all his idea. Clinton may have invaded Afghanistan. Iraq never would have happened under Clinton. Of course, such an opinion is uncomfortably subversive since it somehow means that REAL power doesn't lie with the White House but rather in the shadowy recesses of the Judeo-Protestant elite. Power always has rested in the "shadowy recesses of the WHITE, Judeo-Protestant elite" with heavy emphasis on the Protestant part. The White House and the election circus are but a PR show to delude Americans into believing that the voters are in charge, that the US is a wonderful, transparent democracy where public opinion reigns supreme.... Not quite.....after all, Bush, Cheney, etc are all white and Protestant. ted
