There were moderate candidates in the last election in Iran. They were strongly favored to win because the populace was sick of the clerics crap. Jingoistic anti-Iranian statements from the chimpistration combined with invading Iraq convinced the people of Iran they needed a strong voice AGAINST American policies, and the clerics men were back in charge. cnn.com It was close even then, and went to a run-off. Bush's statements and actions ensured the cleric's candidate would win. You'd have thought he WANTED that outcome. (Perhaps he did?)
