They've been beaten almost senseless by the Republicans since (and partially because of) 9/11. Its very difficult to untwist the spin when you are the at the brunt of a lot of it and the public is in a patriotic thrall. The Reps are on the ropes, not on the matt; the Dems need to present a positive alternative. Agreed. ted
