Bill, the prevailing wage has nothing, nothing to do with the unions...Even the republicans are admitting the failure to set prevailing wage in the enormous government entitlement program has been a disaster for the local contractors and workers. Read the papers....look who supported the repeal of the suspension. Tons of republicans. Nobody needs to be a union member. Illegal aliens were pouring into Louisiana....come on. If we are talking about cost of cleanup, remember the wages paid to locals go back into the local economy reinforcing the rebuild..not so otherwise. check your republican sources on this one. It was just a bad, bad, shortsighted decision.
