That's plain enough statement for me that Barnett is dead wrong on Iran. Barnett's position is that there can't be any real settlement in the ME that does not include Iran. The question is, how do we get there? We are not going to invade. A "surgical strike" just asks for retaliation. So we had better come up with something else. If we just continue on the present course, they get stronger and continue to hate us just as much. There are no good answers.
