Cummings adopts the position that the deaths of 2,000 American soldiers should be put "in context" and then defends that position and YOU tell him "nice post." How many of your friends did you watch bleed out in a faraway place? If your wife were raped and murdered would you expect to have that put "in context" by statistics on the number of similar victims? What if she were raped and murdered because her employer sent her into a known haunt of rapists and murderers? Would it make it ok for you if her boss told you that lots of other women had been raped and murdered. Maybe you'd like to hear the statistics for the Sudan or Somalia where it's pretty commonplace. I'd bet that would make it ok. You'd just nod your bobbing head and say, "Wow, when you put it that way I guess it could have been worse." If you're going to cheerlead, at least have some idea of what's being discussed. Ed
