There's a tidal generating plant in the Annapolis Basin
near Annapolis Royal in Nova Scotia.
i've stopped to visit there several times over the years.

i guess there is some fish kill as the Cormorants like
to sit on one side of the outlet areas and frequently
dive in to the current, so i guess they're getting fish
that have gone through.
i guess that sedimentation is also an issue.
i haven't read up a lot on this, so can't comment too
much, but this has been one of the arguments that i've seen
against building more tidal plants in the other major
basins of the Bay of Fundy.
a lot of people are worried about what might happen
to the fisheries, wildlife, etc...

btw, the Annapolis generator had to be kept turned off
for about a month about 2 years ago, because a young
Humpback whale got into the basin and couldn't get out again.
He kept swimming around and they tried to chase him through,
but he managed to escape repeatedly for several weeks
and stayed upstream in the river above the generator.
The ended up using the month to do maintenance on the
generator and finally did get the whale to go back out
to sea. (imo, probably only in Canada would they shut
down a generating plant for a month while trying to
keep a whale from being injured or killed). (-:
