The Pulp Fiction version of Ezekiel 25:17 was actually a mixture of Ezekiel 25:17 and bits from 23rd Psalm. IMVHO, the Revelation scripture you are referring to is directed in two ways.

1. The Bible translators that were to come to translate into all the languages.

2. And me today in that I shouldn't run out and write a new book "inspired by the Spirit" and then attach it to a Bible as the 67th book.

I don't think blending the verses or misquoting them is wrong - we do it all the time. Very few of us can quote it perfectly word for word. Also, the principle that "jules" lays out seems right on target to other scripture.

Matthew 18:6 NIV (New International Version)

6But if anyone causes one of these little ones who believe in me to sin, it would be better for him to have a large millstone hung around his neck and to be drowned in the depths of the sea.

Scary stuff. All IMVHO.
