"I agree, Bush has cancelled progress. I also agree that a nuclear Pakistan is unacceptable. I'd bet my eye-teeth Osama and his buddies are being proteted by Pakistanis. I don't know what we can do to turn the tide on Pakistan, but blind acceptance of any Muslim country having nukes is a recipe for a US city getting nuked."

What we need is a real global partnership with the Russians to start eliminating and controling these weapons. We could jointly start building down, and after demonstrating to the world we are doing it, have the moral authority to insist other nations do the same, including Israel. Perhaps set up an IAEA with teeth to make SURE no nation has the capability - it takes considerable industrial facilities, cetrifuge farms, etc,. to make weapons grade material - to make bombs. It could be done - but not by Bush. Who would trust him?

It may take a western city being taken out to make it happen. I only hope when this happens, we don't have a Bush-type in charge. After 9/11, the world was ready to help us hunt down terrorists where ever they hid. Then, Bush twisted the national fear and anger to invade Iraq without justification and squandered that good will with the rest of the world.
