That is a bunch of bullshit. I salute this President today along with Senators Arlen Spectre and Orrin Hatch. These are the true patriots and they have shown their love for America instead of the extreme right, "the so called base". The "chimp" has finally proved everybody wrong including those who called him a chimp. He is a chip of the old block Harbert Walker Bush. I salute him for his courage in nominating Meirs, I salute him for respecting Meirs' wishes by accepting her letter of withdrawl and instead not insisting on a fight at her expense and the two Republican Senators, one of whom has called it a "disgrace". I also salute Sen. Schumer who opposed Meirs. He found strange bedfellows on this issue which is the extreme right, but none the same he opposed Meirs because of his personal conviction and not his politics. Today, I am proud to be an American since we have demonstrated that our elected reps including the Prez can rise above politics to withold the values that our ancestors cherished which is "liberty and justice for all." My two cents worth and a Libbyterian greeting.
