Specifically the ones affected by Katrina. Many homeowners did not have flood insurance, so how will they pay for the reconstruction and new electronic goods? From what I've seen, the insurance companies have been quite aggressive with their definitions of what they will cover. Another impact is the higher energy prices that were a result of Katrina and affected the entire nation. You may be right, it could be a 2 quarter issue. Time will tell, but other fundamental issues like a negative US savings rate (first time since 1933), and a the removal of the "wealth affect" from rising home values will play out over time. I think the consumer is tapped out and the areas for incremental spending and consumption are being taken away. For me, the risks don't justify a positive outlook on the markets, and with the S&P 500 slightly negative for the year, my Money Market and short-term treasury positions (retirement account) are beating the overall stock market. I used to play FNSR a lot "back in the day" when over $10, it was good to me. It still is a very interesting stock, IMHO, if it can get to sustained profitability down the road, purchases here could pay off handsomely over the longer term. Played CACS as well, a Boulder, CO outfit that is just a few miles from where I work. The last stock I played was VDSI, a company with some very interesting encryption technology, it had a hell of a run from last summer through the 1st Qtr of 2005. My trading account was liquidated to fund my start-up business (not tech-related), so I haven't traded anything in the past 9 months or so. Just playing the capital preservation game in my retirement account until the business generates the liquidity for me to build up my trading account again. FWIW, working for yourself is one of the greatest freedoms I have ever experienced and don't miss the corporate world on iota, even though it "cost" me my trading account. A-M-S
