The charge of high crimes and misdemeanours covers allegations of misconduct that do not fall under a more clearly defined impeachable offence; eg. high treason. This charge only occurs in cases of parliamentary impeachment and is unrelated to any offence in criminal law. Which means it can really be only prosecuted by Congress, right? Good luck with that. Of course..........my point was there's enough there that it could happen if the GOP didn't control the gov't and they were not about to kill the golden goose that is quickly becoming tarnished. <g> ted
