There are a number of products that can use either a mix of NAND and NOR, NAND and DRAM, or all NOR. When NAND is not available, NOR based versions of those products must be used.

Cell phone models that require NAND/DRAM, for example, will be limited in availabiliyt, resulting in cell phone models that use NOR increasing their market share.
