Poor Studs is all over the place in that article.

The Sox-Cubs rivalry is mostly press hype. There used to be a real difference when the South Side was stockyards and steel mills, but not any more.

Trust me, the rivalry is real on the South Side. Did you hear the Fox announcers reference the stockyards as if they were still in existence?

And it's true that compared with the Cubs, with their hallowed Wrigley Field, the White Sox have always played in a dump. The old Comiskey Park was terrible, and the new one, U.S. Cellular Field, isn't much better.

The Sox have made some major improvements to the Cell, or The Joan, as Steve Dahl occasionally refers to it, since it was built. Reducing the seating in the upper deck and putting on a roof made it a lot more intimate. I have actually grown to like the stadium, though I will always miss Old Comiskey.
