I caught a relatively late train (8:49 p.m.) today from the western suburbs. This particular train is usually one-quarter filled. Today, it was standing room only with Sox fans, all decked out in black, going downtown to watch the parade. There were a lot of parents with young children.

Holding the ball from the final out of Game 4 of the series, Reinsdorf, his voice cracking said, "Getting this ball from (Paul) Konerko was the most emotional day of my life."

The Cubs won't win until they have an owner as committed to winning as is Reinsdorf. The Tribune has no financial incentive.

Aparicio threw out the first pitch in Game 1 and Bo Jackson did the honors for Game 2. If it had gone to seven, my money was on Carlton Fisk to throw out the first pitch.

I remember when the Sox almost got sold to Eddie DeBartolo. Before any deal could be signed, the bastard let slip that he wanted to move the team to New Orleans. End of deal.
