Glenn: Glad you could make it for Friday's celebration...I saw highlights on WGN and the local CBS station...They said over 1 1/2 million fans showed up for the parade downtown...The White Sox have made Chicago proud...I really like the way they played together as a team...And I think the Cubs could learn A LOT from Kenny Williams and Ozzie Guillen...I hope what the White Sox accomplished will inspire the Cubs...Yet, I tend to agree with your comment...

<<...The Cubs won't win until they have an owner as committed to winning as is Reinsdorf. The Tribune has no financial incentive...>>

Several decades ago The Tribune Company paid around $20 Million for the Cubs franchise and today its estimated that it's worth well over $500 Million...Tribune is most interested in the broadcast rights for the Cubs games...Yet, I think private ownership might allow for the Cubs to reach their full potential...I have read that Tribune is under pressure (as their stock has dropped in value for 2 yrs now) and they may consider selling off valuable "non-core" assets...It would be great if a private syndicate would purchase the Cubs with Hall of Fame player Ryne Sandberg as a lead partner and the GM of the new organization...I think he could set the right tone and develop a true vision to win...The Cubs would need a new Manager and some new coaches too...Ozzie is clearly "a player's Manager" and the Cubs need someone to hold them accountable and treat ALL players (even the superstars) the same way...Ozzie is not afraid to be brutally honest, be creative, take risks, and inspire players to play good fundamental baseball...Ozzie has said recently that "we didn't necessarily get the best players we got the best team players."...That is so important...Good team chemistry is essential.
