Brumar89 thats a "Post of the Day!" An excellent slam dunk. There is nothing left to say. If the left had a true appreciation for science, they would cease to hold socialism and communism as an ideal. Real world experiments have taken place over the past half century - the two Koreas, two Germany's and many other places. And the leftist ideal has proven to be a drastic failure.

Rightwingers don't understand communism or socialism either as a theory or as practiced in the real world. You've got to be kidding. That is such a pathetic post. I don't know anyone on the left who sees communism as an ideal. Obviously there are some people on the fringe who are communists (just as we could include abortion clinic bombers on the "right"- but to say they are mainstream would be as ridiculous as what you've said.) You ought to feel silly writing crap like that, but no doubt it just gives you a warm feeling of sanctimoniousness. What's your problem with allowing gay people to have the same rights as other people regarding their unions with people whom they love? And you don't want to protect the environment? Are you planning to leave the planet or something ?

The Anti-Scientific Left: Gay Marriage The last little post was popular so I'll throw out another one. A scientific approach to the question of legalizing gay marriage would entail anthropological research to identify cultures in which gay marriage existed and explore the ramifications of that. The problem is that its hard to find any such cultures. The closest you can come up with are some tribal cultures where homosexual men find outlets only by disguising themselves as women and as "women" they marry men. That is very different from true gay marriage. And the fact that in those cultures, gay men have to disguise their gender shows that homosexuality per se is not openly tolerated. In addition, there have been other cultures which were tolerant of homosexuality but even there one didn't find gay marriage practiced. Now when one realizes there have been and are thousands of human cultures, it is downright amazing that none sanction anything like the "gay marriage" the left is advocating for America today. This fact is so significant, we should be asking if there are not very strong Darwinian reasons (even if we haven't identify what they are) why gay marriage is a very bad idea for any society. How else can one explain the absence of gay marriage in ANY other culture?
