I'd take Gov Dean over the current crop of senator wannabees in 2008...

Maybe Perry will run?
:)

"Dean would have easily won. I would like to really know what happened there...."

Good old boy network. Kerry had better connections in the party, so they worked harder for him. At least that is my take on it.

I know this will sound rather petty but in American politics, its usually the taller candidate who wins. I think that's been mostly true of many presidential races in American history.....usually the taller man has won. At 5' 8", Dean was a rather short man as presidential candidates go and certainly shorter than Bush at 6'. People don't expect tall people to lose it......so Dean's hot temper didn't play well against Kerry's 6' 4" patrician reserve. As I said earlier, all this stuff is petty but I think it's a factor at least on a subconscious level when people decide whom they want to lead them.
