This war was based on a pack of lies created by the Bush administration to snooker the US Congress, the US public and the UN. A war based on lies is illegal. Impeachment, for the umpteenth time, is a POLITICAL ACTION NOT A LEGAL ONE. The House of Representatives, where impeachment is conducted, is controlled by the Republicans who will not, even after all the lies, impeach their own lying President and Vice President. Republicans should demand Rumsfeld resign, they should demand that Bush fire Rove, they should demand that McClellan resign, they should demand that Bush and Cheney be impeached but they will not because they put PARTY above COUNTRY. We do not go to war to save Israel no matter how bizarre Wolfowitz's imagining about destroying OPEC by flooding the world with cheap Iraqi oil are. The Israeli-Palestinian situation isn't about PEACE, it's about LAND. They both want the same LAND. It's a zero sum game and, with the birth rates where they are today, Israel's position is a losing one and they know it. It is not up to YOU to impose your idea of democracy, which I suggest you cannot even define, on anyone. You can promote it all you like but you cannot impose it either ethically or practically. Police are limited to the LAWS of the land. They do not impose their own will, they follow the law or they get jailed themselves. The UN does not have its own force. It is the one place in the world that countries can go to air out their differences. Do you think that countries should not have this capability? Bush has turned Afghanistan into a chaotic mess ruled by warlords and drug traffickers. This is what happens when there is no RULE OF LAW. This is what happens when there is a POWER VACUUM. Right wingers should feel right at home in the chaos of Afghanistan. It's pure darwinian human existence. It is what happens when the 'free market' runs amuck as it always does. I'm forever amazed and amused that rightwingers aren't flocking to Afghanistan to live their 'free' existence.
