Fitzgerald stated clearly Plame was a covert agent whose identity was classified, thus making it illegal and a falony to out her identity. Anyone knows that when you out one agent's ID, you jeopardize the lives, careers and efforts of all the rest, including ongoing operations of great import, confidential informants, assets, sources, etc. In short this kind of outing does enormous harm to our national security, especially when you out a WMD agent during war-time which was based on the fear of WMD. Christopher Hitchins won't admit he was wrong about the Iraq War, so he'd BS'ing. Remember, Hitchins was also one of the ones claiming there were huge WMD stockpiles.
