The energy gouging started the day after Cheney was nominated. Check the charts and the dates. Sometime in June 2000. At the same time Bush-Cheney had campaign operations being run out of Enron's headquarters. Enron was the #1 organizer of the gouging marathon. The Bushies gouged for three reasons; greed, to make excuses to dismantle environmental protection, and to create a crisis which they claimed they were best experienced to handle. Remember Bush promised to jawbone OPEC and bring down prices? He never did. In fact he did the opposite.
