God directed intelligent people to convince Bush to change the pick to Alito. Since Bush is incapable of making a mistake, it must be part of a strategy inspired by divine intervention.

I have wondered if Miers was a bait and switch nominee to energize the base. President Bush would have had to have confidence that she would have been an excellent jurist to even offer her as a candidate. This is more evidence of President Bush's genius in his nominations.
