"read one of his books."

Please!

I've read several dozen books on Buddhism. Then one day I met the Buddha on the road and I killed him! (I forget the author's name but I remember he had brain cancer--I wonder whatever happened to him?) Sheldon somebody or other, it was.

At some point, DAK--you gotta start living. I think today I will read some Sue Grafton, Lawrence Bloch, or Louis L'amour. But first I am going to watch the river through the trees (stripped of their autumn leaves)--as it curls in and out of the mist...

Once in awhile Jonathan Livingston Seagull hovers near my window to give me his regards...

Some day YOU will arrive at a place where you no longer need to read anybody. You will then be able to invent your own answers and walk your own path. In the meantime--don't be afraid to leave the beaten path and walk through the woods.

One of my uncles died a few years back. My dad was in Arizona for the winter and we asked him how he was getting to the funeral, etc. He responded:

"Why should I go to his funeral? He ain't goin to mine?"

Once you're gone, DAK--you're gone. Remember how it was before you were born? :-) VERY PEACEFUL!
