It is amazing how Arnie squandered such widespread support in such a short period of time.

What's more amazing was that CA elected him in the first place. I thought Arnie's platform was: 1. CA is all screwed up. 2. I have no idea what is going on. 3. Elect me and I'll figure out what's going on and fix it.

He opposes a $10B bond proposed by Davis because it doesn't fix the problem, it only delays the inevitable bankruptcy. He's elected and proposes a $15B bond. The only procedural difference is that Arnie has a "special election" for the bond and runs around the country saying if you don't vote for the bond CA will go bankrupt.

The good news is that Arnie plans to ride his popularity to a re-election. Charles Manson should be able to beat Arnie.

Money has nothing to do with test scores. Look at Washington DC, highest per capita spending in the Nation and the lowest test scores too. Kansas ran an experiment a few years back and built sparing no expense on a New High school in a disadvantaged neighborhood. No increase in test scores. You can spend all the money you want, but the laws of diminishing returns apply. You raise the example of no school librarian. Well if there were no public libraries too, you'd have a point, but there are public libraries for even elementary school kids to go to. You know the section with the tiny shelves? I also think every school district wastes tons of money on Phys Ed and sports programs. If you want to play a sport, join a rec league. Nobody should get shortchanged on math and science and English teachers to pay for Phys Ed teachers and stadiums and uniforms.
