From the US Constitution....

Article III

Clause 2: In all Cases affecting Ambassadors, other public Ministers and Consuls, and those in which a State shall be Party, the supreme Court shall have original Jurisdiction. In all the other Cases before mentioned, the supreme Court shall have appellate Jurisdiction, both as to Law and Fact, with such Exceptions, and under such Regulations as the Congress shall make.

Thanks.

What surprised me most was not that they had the audacity to attempt to eliminate judicial review, but that there was relatively little uproar. Why is it when politicians infringe on the judicial side of the balance equation, it is ok, but when the judicial branch even hints at overstepping there is a cry for their heads? I also worry that too many citizens don't realize the importance of this balance equation.

Conservatives are once again attempting to rip the fabric of our Constitutional framework for short term political gain. Elimination of judicial review? Legislative review of judges?? End of the fillibuster??? If the common citizen doesn't understand the implications, how can they prevent the resulting loss of liberties?

The amount of misinformation and lies put out by the Conservatives in this area is astounding. They are creating a whole class of uneducated dittoheads who believe that the founding fathers wanted a theocracy, that the majority should decide the limits of human rights, and that the judicial branch is unnecessary. Amazing.
