The Admin. had every right in the world to defend itself against Wilson's lying and hyping of his lies to advance himself with the Kerry campaign and financially....

1. Wilson wrote an op-ed in the NYT attacking the president.
2. Wilson claimed that he was sent to Niger by the VP.

Libby, Rove, etc. had no choice but to set the record straight.
