Perhaps I've missed it, but I still have not seen where Wilson purportedly claims that the VP sent him to Niger. I always read that the CIA sent him.

Also, it is my understanding that Wilson had a transcript of the forged documents. Knew of their contents and the signatories to it. Did he not meet with some of the supposed signatories of the document? He asked them directly if there was anything to it, and it is my understanding that they told him directly that they must be forgeries.

In fact the documents were forgeries. But one does not have to see them to know that they were forgeries, as long as one meets with the supposed signatories of said forgery.

I have seen nothing yet to indicate that the story as told by Wilson is a lie. In fact the more dust that the republicans throw up over this the more it smells of a coverup that has been orchestrated by the whitehouse. Why did Scooter ask that he not be identified as a Senior White House official when speaking to a reporter about Wilson? Why did he feel the need to hide his identity?

Why did Scooter say that Tim Russert was the one that told him that Valerie Plame was a CIA agent? Russert denies that he knew about Plame or told Scooter. That on the day in question, Scooter called to complain about a news report. Since when does the whitehouse lean on a TV network about a news report? I thought we had a free press?

The facts are that Wilson told the truth, and Scooter lied.
