America has a decision to make, taking out the Hussein regime or doing something different. We debate the issue long and hard, we argue, we have marches, we have protests pro and con. Then a vote is taken. And enough people from both major political parties decide to engage Saddam's forces. My question is this. Do you think we as a nation would win the war faster, and with less casualties if the American people closed ranks and supported the decision we made collectively? Do you think the morale of our troops would be better served if we closed ranks and supported the decision we made as a nation? That's the problem I have with all these anti-Iraq military posters. NOT ONCE! NEVER have I seen them patriotically get behind the effort, knowing full well to do just the opposite does nothing but decay the morale of our troops and support the enemy. Take the case of our liberal mainstream media. What cause is served when they do nothing but run around and film every bombing in Iraq, yet neglect the thousands of other acts of kindness from Iraqi's which happen every day? It's not about being right on election day. It's about being a part of the American team and recognizing when to put your personal desires aside to support the larger cause of our country. Protecting minority opinions has nothing to do with it. Those opinions have been expressed fully and completely. Recognizing when those expressions undermine the morale of our troops and give support to our enemy is. Oh, one last thing. A great hero in one war can become a traiter in another, just ask Benedict Arnold.
