In a corporate press release, dated 7/11/05, issued in conjunction with Qualcomm`s filing suit against Broadcom for infringing essential GSM/GPRSEDGE patents owned by Qualcomm, there are interesting statements made. According to Qualcomm, the evolved GSM standards incorporated inventions discovered and patented by Qualcomm during their work on high speed data.In retrospect, Lou Lupin may have been alerting us to this show down, and setting the stage for Qualcomm`s defense/attack.
