I'm sure you realize that militant Islam already failed in Egypt, Pakistan, Turkey, Iraq, and several other countries.

So who blew up Sharm Al Shayihk a couple of months ago on the Sinai peninsula??

Who blew up the Jewish Synagogue and bank in Turkey? Who was plotting to blow up Israeli ships in that Turkish harbor in August, but was caught (Lu'ay Saqa, a major Zarqawi lieutenant.. )??

Who sponsored the Taliban in Afghanistan..?? the previous Islamic regime in Pakistan which still harbors Bin Ladin..

I don't believe that appeasing this threat will solve the problem. Appeasement is nothing more than a more evidence that we're weak and decadent and that it's now time for the Armies of Allah to defeat the Armies of Satan..

And if we show weakness, we'll only prove them right...

After all what kind of response did we have to our Embassies in Africa being destroyed, or the attack upon the USS Cole?? NOTHING that made any difference.. (bombing an "aspirin" factory and an empty training camp with $60 million in Tomahawk missiles.)..

But going into Afghanistan with a few thousand Special Operations soldiers and a bunch of money to buy the temporary loyalty of the Afghan warlords.. and now we have elections in Afghanistan, and some early signs that it might begin to recover after 30 years of endless war. (of course, we still have that opium issue to deal with)..

Iraq may remain a hopeless basketcase for years (decades?) to come.. Who knows.. But so long as Al Qai'da is operating here, WE NEED to operate here..
