Thanks for the kind words everyone!

I'm told the surgery was a success.

As expected, my ankle hurts & it's quite swollen. Even the
slightest pressure on the wound makes things worse. The pain
pills (percocet) help, but they make me drowsy, so my posting
may be limited over the next couple of days.
