"Truer words was never spoke," to steal from Squire Danaher in The Quiet Man. I've said the same as true for individuals as well. For societies, same goes for war, response to 9-11, hurricanes and flooding in New Orleans, etc. As Mark Knopfler said in one of his songs about finger pointing, "You've got three more fingers, pointing back at *you*"

The idea that the nations policy makers worked for over a year to develop a military response to a possible pandemic speaks volumes about our society today.
