Its Deja vu all over again.

Remember the dot.bombs? Anything with internet associated with it got hyped and bid up to the stratosphere. Then there was internet equipment (remember Sycamore?? IPOd priced at $45, but opened at $250, was trading above $1000 within an hour, yet no real customers, no revenues, no product, just a whole lotta hype and a dream).

Then anything genomics, more recently Chinese anything, and anybody who makes anti-terror anything, and nano, now the market is for the birds. So it goes.

There will be fortunes made and lost in exactly the same way now with bird flu. NNVC will be right in there, but will never survive because there is no substance behind the BS at all. I traded SCMR the day they IPOd, and to this day I am not at all above trading things like this, but I try very hard to not delude myself into thinking they are anything other than what they are. That's the big danger with these things, is that you begin to believe the hype. That can cause you to hang on to a loser far too long, or see prices nosediving as a buying opportunity, so you reach out to catch a falling knife.
