I just happen to be in Garmish, Germany for a week vacation.

I had a wonderful week there in the winter of '54. Skied the 1936 downhill course. It was "Military only" in those days.

Neuschwanstein! That was the boys' absolutely most favorite place on our trip to Germany. Prepare to walk. Make sure you do a bit of reading about Mad King Ludwig. I loved the Grotto.
Are you going to get into Austria at all? The kids also loved Salzburg and your son would probably appreciate the torture room in the Hohensalzburg Fort. It ranked right up there with Alcatraz on Ammo's list of favorite sights. That and the Lindow man at the British Museum. You can see a pattern, I'm sure.

What wonderful years for your children and you, Michael. Have fun!
