It may explain a lot of human dynamics but it can't justify ethnic authoritarianism in a society based on individual rights and freedoms.

If one is a member of a dispossessed minority, and one works with the oppressor, I think the oppressed minority can question the person who has thrown in with the oppressor. That might be so if the party were certifiably an oppressor and the individual had thrown in with said oppressor to oppress the group. But if the party were the oppressor only in the eyes of the group leadership and the individual genuinely believed that this designation were incorrect or that he could effect favorable change for the group better by collaborating, that's another matter.
