I am anti bullying- so I don't want physical violence, or even emotional trauma, and I think it's nice to try to raise children so they act better when they are adults- (I think adults are lost causes)- but on the other hand, I've always said (especially on SI) that within the law people have the freedom to bully, and the do, consistently, and constantly. Bush et al were bullies with their terrorism clap trap- painting anyone who didn't agree as a traitor. I don't agree with that either, but I wouldn't shut it down, since to shut down speech I do not like, is the first step in shutting down speech I do like. Do I think people should be more polite? Absolutely. Do I want to shut anyone up, using the state? No. (although since I do have a few bullies who still follow ME- let me just say that on my threads I do ban bullies, because I am not the government, and I don't think I have to talk to them. I wouldn't associate with someone who threw cookies at a politician, either. I think that's wrong- personally. But that is as far as I will go.) Nice try though.
