paret, That's because the poor people have been on welfare for over 3 generations, and expect the government to bail them out of whatever problem comes along. Those who have the cars, and money, are accustomed to looking after themselves, and took the initiative to get the hell out of NO, instead of sitting around on their butts waiting for FEMA. The poor could have gotten out if they had followed the lead of one of their own young men who went to the school bus lot, where 450, gassed up, buses were just sitting there, and loaded it with as many people as he could get in it, and drove them to safety.
