And, philosophy comes first in the human realm. To the extent that life comes first, one is not human, but a mere animal. Animals don't dabble in philosophy. So you are right that life does come first. But if, in human affairs, we are reduced to life without philosophy, we are reduced to the state of animals.

Which is still not a state bereft of philosophy, it's just that the default philosophical state selected is the survival of the fittest, red in tooth and claw, chimpoid style of life. Whether one recognizes it or not, that's the philosophical foundation. It leads to life like animals. Which not many humans find attractive.

It's tough to avoid philosophy. It comes first. Humans are stuck with it.

Seek virtue, then economic development follows. Not the reverse. Goody-goody comes first ElM.
