Looks like a downgrade but not sure.

I was worried about GS for two reasons.
Q missed on two of their upside surprises for 06.

1. GS was expecting 1-2 cents more from the Royalty agreement expirations. And we're getting less than originaly expectd.

2. They were looking for another 1-2 cents savings in sga&R&D
expense and it's going up 22-27%.
Q's response to this wasn't that great, there are opportunities out there. Well yes there will always be opotunities,so does that mean R&D will be an never ending black hole against earnings. I emphasize this because R&D has been growing faster than Rvenues for 2 yrs now and maybe 3.

The Question is. it's great to spend on R&D but when do the revenues kick in. If R&D spending continues to outpace revenue growth I have to wonder about the worthiness of the projects they are working on.
