NEW YORK (MarketWatch) - M-Systems (FLSH) reported third-quarter net income Thursday of $13.9 million, or 34 cents a share, compared with $6.1 million, or 16 cents a share in the year-earlier period. Revenue rose to $132.6 million from $85.8 million. Analysts polled by Thomson First Call forecast earnings, on average, of 27 cents a share and sales of $117.8 million. The flash data storage maker lifted its 2005 revenue and earnings estimates to at least $490 million and $1.08 a share, above previous views of $450 million in sales and earnings of $1 a share. The shares gained 54 cents to $32.87 Wednesday.
