No, actually I haven't

Start paying attention.

If your perception sees this it's probably because winning is largely being seen as a forgone conclusion after two extremely successful elections.

I said before any elections were conducted, the elections themselves are not that important. How many successful elections has Russia had? How long has Haiti been struggling with democracy? Constitutions are nothing but pieces of paper that can be ignored or torn up in the blink of an eye. The transition to democracy is orders of magnitude easier in Russia than it will be in Iraq. Haiti should be a walk in the park compared to Iraq. Iran is closer to democracy than Saudi Arabia. Purple fingers do not constitute a democracy.

Based on the tone I'm seeing from numerous posters here, it seems to me there is a large population of mostly leftists Americans who would like to see us lose in Iraq and leave dishonorably, similar to the way we left Vietnam.

At best, you're deluding yourself.

I wonder how some on this thread would deal with a scenario such as this. Your a reporter for CBS news and you've just learned a suicide bomber is going to blow up the guardstation where 6 GI's are standing watch. What do you do, break out your camera and hope you can catch a glimpse of the event live, or warn your fellow American soldiers so they can kill the enemy?

I doubt that you wonder at all. I think you've already decided who would do what.
