Ted, Chirac like a good rightie is pushing the ethnic issue in France. Wasn't he supposed to be the hero of the American left? Chirac is a French rightie.........I don't think a more obnoxious person exists on the planet. I had hoped that when he and Schroeder stood up to Bush and did not agree to go to war that that would stop Bush but I have never thought of Chirac as hero. France is an important albeit contentious ally..........I don't want to alienate an ally....that was and continues to be my stance.
